About the Project

Gender equality issues have been found to have averse effects on female job opportunities, which eventually leads to increased rates of poverty within society, as well as mental illness among women. Mothers in particular, are considered to be a unique vulnerability group within society, as the child-rearing period makes it more difficult to reintegrate themselves into the workforce.

Therefore, this project aims to support the inclusion of unemployed mothers with few opportunities with an emphasis on their integration to the labor market identified in Greece, Finland and Sweden.

Objectives

Strategic 1: To create new learning opportunities and upskilling pathways for key competences

SKILLS4MUMS ACADEMY

To create the Skills4Mums Academy offering skills training to unemployed mothers in Greece as well as unemployed mothers from immigrant communities in Finland and Sweden, supporting them to find employment and return to the workforce (organise a training programme, identify target groups, organise their accessibility to the training steps)

LEARNING CONTENT

To develop specialised learning content for a series of courses/seminars on:

  • Digital skills training (Microsoft Office)
  • Language skills training (Business English)
  • Search for employment opportunities on the web ; provide support to beneficiaries; access to employment in the Greek work environment and online based on shared experiences of best practice from Swedish partner Be-Creative and Finnish partner Learnmera
  • Career guidance and preparation of CV, job interviews

Strategic 2: To deliver the training through digital and blended teaching and learning methodologies

DIGITAL & BLENDED TEACHING

To deliver the training through digital and blended teaching and learning methodologies.

The curricula/training will be learner-centered focusing on the needs of unemployed women and flexible in their delivery – i.e. using digital/online or blended learning methods in order to access the maximum number of unemployed mothers in need of upskilling and training.

Teaching and learning approaches that are relevant to the needs of the labour market in the aftermath of the pandemic, focusing on the specific needs of unemployed mothers who may have less possibilities for transporting to the work place due to childcare needs.

WORK OPPORTUNITIES

To create work-based learning opportunities for unemployed mothers in Greece, Finland and Sweden through placements, training in companies.

Deliverables

QUALITY ASSURANCE

Effective monitoring and tracking progress of learners. Quality assurance will also be addressed through rigorous attention to the preparation of the seminars and their teaching /learning methodologies. Quality could be accessed by the end of the seminars measuring quantitative and qualitative outcomes.

DIGITAL DIMENSION

The project will have a strong digital dimension in its implementation through the teaching, learning and placements organised digitally by the Rise Club Academy, and will place an important emphasis on the digital skills training seminars.
